Five  kiwis  were  released  into  Auckland.

The hunua Range  is  about  250  square kilometres  large.

It is completely predator free.

more than 100 Auckland  Council staff , Volunteers, Friend and family.

People were able to take photos and pat the native birds.

The kiwi were released while the light was fading. 

They were making it safe to released the kiwis there again.

The first time they've been there in 50  year.
